Helping Young Swimmers Turn Hard Work Into Faster Swimming
If your child is already on a swim team, you’ve likely seen how much time and effort they put into the pool.
But here’s the reality:
Most team practices are built around lanes, intervals, and group sets—not individualized stroke correction.
That’s where we come in.
At Chicago Blue Dolphins, we provide private, technique-focused coaching that helps competitive swimmers:
- Understand what their coaches are asking them to fix
- Actually feel the changes in their stroke
- Turn better technique into real speed and efficiency
Ready to Help Your Swimmer Improve?
Whether your swimmer needs stroke refinement, race-season technical work, or structured off-season training, we’ll help you determine the best next step.

Why Competitive Swimmers Benefit from Private Coaching
1. Individual Attention You Can’t Get in a Team Practice
In a typical swim practice, your child is:
- Sharing a lane with 4–8 swimmers
- Following intervals and send-offs
- Getting limited, quick feedback from the deck
That structure is necessary—but it makes deep technical improvement difficult.
In a private session, we can:
- Slow things down
- Isolate specific parts of the stroke
- Build understanding step-by-step
This allows swimmers to develop skills—not just complete workouts.
2. Video Feedback That Makes Technique “Click”
One of the biggest breakthroughs for swimmers comes when they can see what’s happening.
In our Swim Studio, we use:
- Underwater video
- Above-water video
- Mirrors for real-time feedback
This allows your swimmer to:
- Compare what they feel vs. what they’re actually doing
- Understand what their team coach is seeing from the deck
- Make faster, more accurate corrections
We also encourage swimmers to tell us what their coaches are working on—so we can reinforce, not replace, their team training.
3. Simple, Focused Takeaways for Practice
We don’t overload swimmers with information.
After each session, your child leaves with:
- 2–3 specific things to focus on
- Clear “feel cues” they can apply during practice
We coach them to:
Follow the team workout—but bring one technical focus into the water each day.
This approach helps them:
- Stay engaged during practice
- Build awareness
- Improve faster than swimmers who are just “going through the motions”
4. Take-Home Video Coaching (Bronze, Silver, Gold Options)
We offer progressive video packages so your swimmer can continue learning between sessions:
- Bronze (+$15): Key clips for reference
- Silver (+$50): Expanded video with voiceover of technical highlights
- Gold ($150): Full analysis from six angles with voiceover coaching
This allows swimmers to:
- Review their stroke before practice
- Reinforce corrections visually
- Build independence and understanding

5. Feel Speed and Efficiency with the Endless Pool
Our Endless Pool creates a consistent, controlled current—which is a game-changer for technique work.
Unlike a standard pool:
- The speed stays constant
- Your swimmer stays in one place
- Every change in technique is immediately noticeable
When a swimmer improves:
- The stroke feels smoother and longer
- The effort decreases
- Or the current can be increased while maintaining control
This creates a powerful feedback loop:
Better technique → Better feel → Faster swimming
6. Purposeful Off-Season Training with PACE Essentials
The off-season is where swimmers either:
- Improve… or fall behind
Too often, swimmers show up to the pool without a plan.
Our PACE Essentials program provides:
- Structured weekly swim practices
- A clear Weekly Focus (technique + training skill)
- Drill videos and guidance
- A framework for purposeful swimming
This keeps swimmers:
- In shape
- Technically sharp
- Mentally engaged
So they return to their season ahead—not starting over.
Additional Benefits for Competitive Swimmers
Our approach also helps swimmers:
- Improve efficiency (lower stroke count, better distance per stroke)
- Develop stronger body position and balance (BSP framework)
- Build better breathing patterns and rhythm under pressure
- Increase awareness of tempo, timing, and stroke mechanics
- Translate technique into performance during races
How We Work With Your Swimmer’s Team Coach
We are not a replacement for your child’s team.
We are a complement.
Our role is to:
- Reinforce what their coach is teaching
- Help your swimmer understand and apply feedback
- Accelerate technical development
When swimmers return to practice, they:
- Know what to focus on
- Can execute corrections more effectively
- Progress faster within their team environment
Who This Is For
This program is ideal for swimmers who:
- Are currently on a swim team
- Want to improve stroke technique and efficiency
- Feel stuck despite working hard in practice
- Are preparing for upcoming meets or championship season
- Want to maximize their potential in the water
