Why Parents Choose Chicago Blue Dolphins

From your child’s first swim class to their first confident kick, we make sure each experience is positive.

  • Warm, comfortable Swim Studio pools designed for young children
  • Small class sizes (max 5 swimmers per instructor)
  • Parent-in-the-water approach for trust and bonding
  • Play-based teaching using songs, games, and toys
  • A clear progression that builds real skills over time

We meet your child exactly where they are—and help them grow from there.

What Your Child Will Learn

We focus on building both comfort and capability in the water.

In our baby and toddler classes, your child will learn:

  • Water comfort and confidence
  • Face immersion and breath control
  • Gliding and kicking with support
  • Safe entries and exits
  • Early independence in the water

As your child grows, they’ll build toward longer swims, floating skills, and early stroke development—setting them up to transition smoothly into our Preschool program.

How Our Classes Work

  • Ages: 6 months to 4 years
  • Class Length: 30 minutes
  • Class Size: Maximum 5 children per instructor
  • Parent Role: One adult per child in the water

You’ll be right there with your child—helping them feel safe, supported, and successful from the very beginning.

Our Approach: Trust First, Then Skills

We believe children learn best when they feel safe.

That means:

  • No rushing milestones
  • No forcing skills before a child is ready
  • No “sink or swim” moments

Instead, we:

  • Build trust first
  • Introduce skills gradually
  • Let confidence lead the process

This approach creates swimmers who don’t just perform skills — they feel comfortable and capable in the water.

the water.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I be in the water with my child?

Yes. Each child needs one adult in the water for support and participation. For twins, you’ll need two caregivers.

What if my child has taken lessons before?

We start all swimmers in Infant–Toddler 1 so they can adjust to our teaching style. If you’re unsure, a trial class is the best way to evaluate fit.

Do you offer private lessons for babies?

No. We find that children at this age learn best in a group setting. Private lessons begin at age 4.
