Our students and parents always ask us where they can swim and practice outside of classes. While joining a health club is always an option, Chicago is a super cool city because the Chicago Park District has indoor and outdoor pools in nearly every neighborhood that have family, open, and lap swim for free or a nominal cost. If you are just looking to swim, there’s really no need to spend a lot of money doing so. And when the weather gets nice in Chicago, the outdoor pools are a great way to stay cool.
To find a pool near you, hours and swim programming formats, head to the Chicago Park District website’s Facilities and Features page, click on “Swimming Pools – Indoor” or “Swimming Pools – Outdoor” and search by your zip code.
As our kids say, “Easy, Peasy, Lemon Squeezy.” Enjoy and get to the pool for some fun!
